There is no doubt about it, when it comes to the transfer of dry ingredients there are few challenges greater than loading mix tanks for the manufacture of Paint or Varnish. TiO2, Clays, Pigments and Resins present some real challenges to the conveyor manufacturer. That is why Aerocon has developed a special range of designs specifically for this application. Easy Clean Housings, Clean-In-Place features and Filter-less Conveyors are all key factors. As good as these features may be they amount to nothing if the system is not dust tight and capable of conveying at very high rates.
The system shown in the photograph on top right shows the typically congested layout of paint manufacture. Aerocon designed this system with 'Split-Frame' Bulk Bag Unloaders, Special Bag Dump Stations and a unique volumetric feeder that feeds into the back of the BDS . The nature of the products handled, as illustrated by the material shown on the right, required flow aids at various places throughout the system. Each station was feeding multiple mixers requiring special zero dead pocket valves

Flexibility

Is needed to produce a wide range of batch tickets each week.
Flexibility can be designed into YOUR dry material conveying system by using a series of Bulk Bag/Bag Dump Stations, each capable of diverting material to lumpbreaking or screening equipment prior to delivering the material to the multiple outlet conveyors.

Versatility

Not only the ability to handle a wide variety of raw material sources but also the ability to fit the conveying system within the constraints of the factory. Aerocon conveyors can be adapted to fit in most spaces!

Cleanliness

Every Conveyor requires cleaning especially when handling products such as Pigments. By a combination of Clean-in-Place DRY air nozzles that rotate as they clean, Purging of the system prior to shut down, Housings that allow operators easy access and the use of base material purging, changes in batch can be achieved on a timely and regular basis.

Speed of Loading

Using a number of loading stations is the key to rapid mixer loading. Each 4" Aero-Mechanical Conveyor is capable of conveying at rates up to 20ft3/min. Conveying rate is just one factor, product flow is also critical. Rates as high as 2000 lbs of TiO2 in 5 minutes have been achieved in practical applications where all factors are taken into account.

Accuracy of Batch

Either by the use of pre-staging or a loss-in-weight auger assisted batch control system, the accuracy of batch YOU require can be addressed and achieved in these simple systems. PLC based controls suitable for explosive atmospheres are normal.
